Today is a very exciting day as we appoint our brother and friend Jayson Colby as an elder in the Boston Church, to join those who watch over the flock. Jayson has been a long standing faithful member of our Christian community and is a pillar in the Greater Boston Region. Jayson and his wife Laura have been married 25 years and have four daughters. Danielle McCartney (23), recently married to Rick McCartney, works as a therapist; Rick and Danielle volunteer as a shepherding couple in the campus ministry. Amorette (21) and Brianna (19) are disciples in the campus ministry. Mariah (17) is a high school senior in the teen ministry. Jayson works full time as a manager of Satellite Labs at UMass Health Care, and Laura is a teacher in the Belmont Public School System.

Jayson has a reputation among the brothers and sisters as a reliable and willing servant in many aspects of the ministry; a brother who has demonstrated steadfastness in turbulent times and wisdom to provide comforting counsel to those who are hurting. Jayson has served on the advisory team in the Greater Boston Region, as a family group leader, and as an effective teacher of sound doctrine in the Region. Laura is a joy to those who know her; her integrity, loyalty, and authentic sprit have refreshed the hearts of many. As a wife and mother, Laura continues to strive to do good for her husband and children.

Both Lilian and I are deeply grateful to God and His church for raising up an elder in the Greater Boston Region. Jayson and Laura have been very dear friends to us; they have been an ear to listen, a couple to dream with, and a great source of wisdom for our young family. We respect them for the example they have set for us as parents, professionals, and servants in the church. We look forward to an exciting journey together as we strive to honor God, winning souls and watching over the flock.
