Welcome to the Boston Church of Christ. We are a joyful collection of a wide assortment of people who are all seeking God as our first priority.
We are a multicultural church with a truly diverse membership. We take the Bible seriously and strive to put it into practice.
Something for everyone...No matter where you are in your life stage, we have a ministry for that.
From our Spanish Ministry, the North Shore, the South Shore, and everywhere in between there is a Worship Center near you.
From Monday through Wednesday, November 16-18, approximately 200 staff members from New York, New Jersey and New England gathered in Hartford, Connecticut, to sing, preach, pray, discuss and celebrate the special life we have in Christ.
The retreat was entitled “Zeal,” and from the opening welcome by Joe and Annie Silipo of Hartford to the closing song, “Start a Fire,” led by New Jersey’s Ross Lippencott, the three days were intense, intimate, inspiring and zealous.
The retreat kicked off with a message by New York’s Steve Kinnard called “Zeal for Jesus.” His clarion call was to not let even ministry distract us from a full heart on fire for Jesus.
Many practical classes were taught throughout the retreat. Discussions on marriage and parenting, insights on how to schedule and effectively lead every disciple in whatever stage of life, and more were offered. Discipleship groups facilitated discussion throughout the time and many sessions had open question and answer sessions.
While Day One focused on a “Zeal for Jesus,” Day Two’s topic was “Zeal for Relationships.” Boston’s Doug Arthur shared scriptures and photos from a recent “Tough Mudder” adventure as he wove tales of discipling and one another connections. Jimmy Rogers and Glenn Petruzzi for the men, and Maria Rogers and Danielle Petruzzi for the women, shared a look inside their close, relational dynamic.
Day Three had the heading of “Zeal For A Lost World.” Much good news was shared and Sam Powell from New York gave the last keynote address. His challenge was to be moved and then go move others.
As the event concluded, fellowship reigned supreme and gratitude for the special bonds built in the Northeast were shared. It was now time to take our zeal from a building to the streets and to the people. As our theme passage stated about Christ himself, “His disciples remembered that it is written: ‘Zeal for your house will consume me (John 2:17).’” God’s zeal must now consume us all and the world around us as well.
